Job Applications
Tamsett Consulting and Tutoring will assist you to prepare a job
application that will ensure you are noticed. Job applications can

Julie will work with you to draft an excellent application including a
relevant covering letter and responses to the selection criteria that
identify transferable skills gained from previous positions. Julie
works with you to identify what is required of the position sought and
present your application in a way that will allow employers to identify

employability skills and personal
attributes you will bring to the position.
Julie will ensure that you are organised and present yourself in the
best possible light from the time of application through to the formal
interview. She will assist you in identifying what it is about you that
can be brought forward to signal your uniqueness, talents, skills,
motivation and 'correct fit' for a position.
Letters of Application
The covering letter for a position needs to be well written, concise
and informative without being overbearing. Tamsett Consulting and
Tutoring will assist you to write a letter of application that will
ensure you are noticed. Julie can also assist you to write unsolicited
letters of application for positions on the hidden job market.
Résumé / Curriculum Vitae
Statistics indicate that a person has up to 8 seconds to make an impact
with their résumé. Julie will assist you to prepare a
professionally presented and concise résumé that is
relevant to the position sought. Julie works with you to create a
résumé that you will be able to respond to in an
interview situation. You will receive several copies of the
résumé on select paper, a disc and can also have
documents sent to your email address or you may wish to bring your own
USB storage device.
Julie endeavours to make clients self sufficient so they can change or
amend their resumes in the future. The style and format of your
résumé will be professional and uncluttered making it
easy to email, print and amend as necessary.
Portfolio
Your portfolio needs to be presented in a coherent order that
corresponds with the information provided in your résumé.
Julie will assist you in creating a portfolio that complements,
reinforces and expands upon your résumé.
Selection Criteria
Many positions require detailed responses to specific essential and
desirable selection criteria. Your responses to these criteria will
largely determine whether you are shortlisted for interview or not.
Tamsett Consulting and Tutoring will assist you to prepare relevant and
sufficiently detailed responses to these criteria which are supported
by demonstrated examples. The information and examples you provide in
response to these criteria need to be consistent with the details
provided in your résumé and letter of application.
